Joe Holt Achieves Best Win Yet in National Youth Cycling Circuit Race

Bryngwyn Year 10 pupils Joe Holt and Brett Nethell continue to impress in the world of cycling with Joe taking his best win yet on Sunday 21 April at the Hog Hill circuit in London.

The Hog Hill GP was the 1st Round in the National Youth Series, with Brett and Joe (County Cycles Racing Team) both planning to travel to most of the Rounds being held throughout Britain this year.

110 riders started the Under 16’s  race on Sunday and the fast pace quickly whittled the bunch down to around 60 riders. The riders had to climb the steep finish climb a total of 30 times and both Joe and Brett were in contention with 2 laps to go.  Brett was unlucky to puncture within a short distance of the Finish.  Joe powered ahead to win the bunch sprint and got a good gap before the line with time to celebrate his biggest win so far.

This was the first of three selection races for the Youth Olympics that Joe has been long-listed for.  The next race is the Isle of Man Youth Tour, a 3-day Stage Race where Joe rides for Wales and Brett for County Cycles Racing Team.
