Llanelli Schools' Best Read of the Year 2012

Carmarthenshire Libraries and the five Llanelli Secondary Schools are running a new Book  Award called The Llanelli Schools' Best Read of the Year. The project is part of the Welsh Government's 'Libraries Inspire 2012-16' strategy and involves ten pupils selected from each school who will read and review the five short-listed books as follows:-

Dave Cousins                '15 Days Without a Head'
Matt Dickinson                'Mortal Chaos'
Carl Hiaasen                  'Chomp'
Bryce Thomas                'Lucy Lockhart'
David Walliams             'Gangsta Granny'

The aim of the competition is to help improve pupils' literacy, decision-making and communication skills through the process of reading, discussing, evaluating and comparing the titles.

The pupils selected from Bryngwyn are:-

Soon, they will be voting for their favourite book and the winning author will be announced early next year.
