Year 11 Pupils Spend Day At Local Engineering Company

Four pupils from Year 11 will today be spending the day at Alun Griffiths (Contractor) Ltd at their site in Cross Hands.  This will be a marvellous opportunity for the pupils to gain an insight into working in the construction industry.  The company is one of the leading civil engineering and construction contractors in Wales, the English border counties and the West Country and is very keen to invest their time and expertise with young people as they view them as their future workforce.  They offer several apprenticeship opportunities every year in various routes as well as extensive work experience for those studying A Levels or degrees.

During their visit, which this week will focus on engineering, our pupils will be given a tour of the site and be addressed by current apprentices, professionals and the company's HR department.  Two further visits are planned to focus on ecology/environmental issues and plant/machinery.  Bryngwyn School are very pleased to be associated with this initiative and wish to thank Alun Griffiths (Contractor) Ltd for providing our pupils with this unique opportunity.
