Results Day 2017

With 2017 came another outstanding year of   results for Bryngwyn School maintaining the   exceptional standards with an outstanding set of exam results. Pupils, staff and parents were   overjoyed that the school had done so well.

Since the impressive ESTYN report, which stated: “the quality of teaching is consistently high and has a considerable impact on developing pupils’ skills and raising standards”, Bryngwyn has continued to grow and improve.

This year the students at Bryngwyn have really proven themselves: 18% of our learners achieved at least 5 or more A*/A grades and our top ten pupils achieved a spectacular 120 grades at A* or A between them.

  • An amazing 90% of pupils achieved the new Welsh Baccalaureate Skills Challenge Certificate, with an amazing 77% of the year group achieving A* - C.

 

  • 99% of pupils achieved A*- C or equivalent in Science. 100% of pupils studying Separate Sciences achieved A*- C grades with over 85% achieving A* or A grades.

 

  • 60% of pupils achieved A* - C in Maths GCSE.

 

  • 60% of pupils achieved A* - C in English GCSE.

 

  • 63% of pupils studying Additional Maths in Year 11 obtained the highest award, “Distinction”.

 

  • 100% of pupils who sat GCSE Statistics a year early achieved an A* - C grade.

 

  • Welsh, identified as an excellent feature of the school by Estyn, saw 87% of all Year 11 pupils achieving A* - C grades, with 36% obtaining an A* or A grade!

 

  • 13 out of 23 pupils in Year 9 achieved A* or A grades in GCSE Welsh Second Language two years early. In addition, 15 of our Year 11 pupils sat their AS Level this year, achieving 100% pass rate with 89% achieving A*- C grades!  

     

  • No pupil left without a recognised qualification for the ninth year in succession.
